Development Worker - Tameside Elders Association and Khush Amdid
Salary £21,937 - £23,405
Tameside Elders Association and Khush Amdid are two very successful voluntary organisations in Tameside catering for the needs of the local elderly Asian population. They now seek a suitably experienced Development Worker to help them develop further. The new worker will also contribute to the development of the wider Asian community in Tameside.

As well as experience of community work, the ideal candidate will feel confident about completing funding applications and be able to communicate in both English and Urdu.

BME Development and Advocacy Case Worker
£11,500 for 21 hours per week plus 5% pension contribution and 15 days annual leave pro-rata.
Actual working hours negotiable to accommodate other commitments.

You will need experience of working with BME (Black Minority Ethinc) communities and the ability to provide advocacy, preferably to people with mental health issues. You will need written and verbal skills in English and at least one of the following languages – Urdu, Gujarati and or Punjabi.

User and Carer Participation & Development Worker
£15,250 for 28 hours per week plus 5% pension contribution and 19 days annual leave pro-rata.
Actual working hours negotiable to accommodate other commitments.

You will need experience delivering user/carer-led participation initiatives, preferably to people with mental health issues. You will be able to listen to users concerns and aspirations and communicate these to providers and funders with the aim of improving the services delivered.

Grant Assessors
Casual hours - £15 per application

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals who are genuinely interested in what is happening in the local communities surrounding us in Greater Manchester.

As an independent grant maker the Community Foundation is looking for local people who would like to support the organisation, providing us with an additional resource for processing grant applications.

Our applications tend to come from small, grassroots community groups applying for relatively modest amounts to run an activity or facility in their local area. All applications are subject to a consistent process of assessment before they are submitted to grant making panels. All panel decisions are made based on the information provided.

As one of our Assessors you will ensure that this information is complete by communicating with applicants to gather additional information and/or clarify specific points.

All our Assessors receive comprehensive training and support from the outset.
