Part-time Growing Co-ordinator   {20 Jan 2012} shim

Organisation: Bite

Salary: 9,563.00 (actual)

Bite logoThere is an exciting opportunity at Bite.

Bite is a partnership between Manchester Mind and Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust. We are working together to improve opportunities available in our own growing and catering venues as a way of contributing to improved mental health. Last year Bite launched its very own veg bag to sell to customers and by doing so promote organic locally produced food.

To help us do this we have just been awarded funding from the North West Social Value Foundation Innovation Investment Fund to employ a part-time growing co-ordinator (17.5 hours per week) for 12 months.

This exciting opportunity will enable us to develop and map the food growing that we are already producing, as well as initiate other growing sites in Manchester with the aim of increasing the amount of local produce that can be used in the veg bags.

If you are well organised, interested and knowledgeable about food growing, and share our vision of increasing the availability of locally produced food and involving our community then this might be the job for you.
