Thu 19 Jul 2012 10.00am - 4.00pm | Do you want to be social? |
Are you interested in learning more about Twitter and get tweeting? Have you heard of Yammer, Foursquare or Linkedin? There are nearly 800 million people on Facebook and 500 million registered on Twitter - some of these will be interested in what you have to say and your work. Social media provides a powerful communications channel for building better and more rewarding relationships with others – including people in power, donors, sponsors, partners etc. Social media will help you reach more people and more potential members.
This training session will demystify some of the most popular current social media platforms and give you practical tips on how you could use them. They are a great, free way to promote your group or campaign and this training should help you choose which to invest your time in.
You will be given the option to stay in the afternoon to create an account for your group on the social media platform you think would be the most useful (Twitter, Facebook, Yammer, etc.).
