Warm Homes Healthy People – let’s Kill the Chill in Tameside!
Tameside Council working jointly with a range of local partners has been successful in a bid for £83k from the Department of Health’s Warm Homes Healthy People fund. In Tameside the number of people living in ‘fuel poverty’ (where they spend over 10% of their household income on keeping their homes warm) is higher than the national average. Living in a cold house can have a huge affect on people’s health especially for young families, people with existing health problems and for older people. Working together the Council, NHS Tameside and Glossop, The Energy Saving Trust and local community organisations such as Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), Age UK Tameside and T3SC will use this funding to deliver more services to help the most vulnerable.
T3SC’s part in this project is to let as many voluntary community and faith groups as possible to know about the project and how it could benefit their service users, please let us know if you would like any of the following resources for your contacts by filling in the order form below and sending it back to us by email or at out freepost address, alternatively please download the resources.
