GMFunding.netIf you are a voluntary organisation, charity or community group in Tameside, GMFunding.net is a new, free service to help you search for sources of funding for your organisation, venture or project.
GMFunding.net includes an online database containing details of over 5,000 funding schemes that are available in the UK from European and national sources, directed at the public, private, charitable, and voluntary and community sectors. This information is continuously researched and updated by staff at GrantFinder. It has a number of useful features for the local fundraiser. These include:
You will need to complete a short, online registration form which will give you immediate, free and unrestricted access to our comprehensive database of funding opportunities. Registration is necessary to measure the use and value of continuing to provide this information service.
GMFunding.net has been set up as a partnership project between voluntary sector support organisations in Greater Manchester, including T3SC and is funded through ChangeUp, the government initiative to improve the quality of support that frontline voluntary and community groups can access.

Fundraising

Grants
Money for specific purpose from another organisation, usually a charitable trust or foundation, but also the Lottery of sometimes government sources. T3SC has a selection of themed Funding guides and a comprehensive monthly

Contracts
A time limited agreement between the group and a third party, generally statutory organisations whereby you deliver a specific piece of work in exchange for money. T3SC can support you with Bidding for a contract
Trading
Selling goods or services and using the proceeds for the benefit of the group. See the Charity Commissions website for advice on trading www.charity-commission.gov.uk/publications/cc35.asp
Loans
Money which will need to be repaid, usually at a cost. Useful when funds are needed now to provide a service which will generate income in the future. Funding – what the Support and Development Team at T3SC can do for you
- Help you to identify possible sources of grant funding.
- Help you to use a database of grant funders.
- Advise you on how to complete your application form.
- Help you to acquire and understand any necessary documents e.g. constitution, policies and procedures.
- Give you information about other specialist sources of help.
- Provide information around funding and other issues through the Newsletter and E-Bulletin.

Funding Case Studies
West African Development received £5,984 in January from Awards for All. WAD develop the education and training of West African people. The award will allow the group to organise activities for its members such as swimming and football, and hold meetings which will provide information on crime reduction, health and social care.

Bangla Link Project received £1,770 from Grassroots grants towards their running expenses for one year. The grant application followed on from a series of meetings looking at the group’s financial needs and the projects they wished to pursue over the coming months. The group were also successful with their application to Awards for All for a series of training courses for members of their community.
