21 September 2010, 9.30-1pm at T3SC

As well as the below training sessions you can also access training anytime at the e-learning package www.tameside.gov.uk/childprotection/elearning thanks to the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board investing £5000. This is a basic awareness raising session in promoting welfare and safeguarding children. Its aim is to enable participants to recognise concerns about children and respond appropriately. All workers who come into contact with children, young people and parents require this training. By the end of the course you will:

  • Be aware of what is meant by child abuse and neglect
  • Be aware of your role in keeping children safe.
  • Be able to take the right steps to protect children
  • Be able to provide a safe environment for the children you work with.

For more information please contact Veronica Hyde at T3SC. Safeguarding Children is only one part of lots of training you can access with TMBC. All people who work with children, young people and families need to know about the common core of skills and knowledge.

T3SC has joined Tameside Training Consortium

Tameside Training Consortium (TTC) is an Employer Led Partnership. T3SC has recently joined and has agreed that volunteers from community groups who are based within the Tameside area can access training available through the consortium. Many of the courses are additional to those offered by T3SC so we hope will be of interest to many groups. So if you’re a community group (i.e. a group which doesn’t employ any staff) and are looking for training for your volunteers whether it’s first aid training, health and safety or food hygiene for example, here is the latest training programme:

Tameside Training Consortium training programme April-June 2010

Introductory offer – T3SC is offering one free place to the first 30 community groups who book on a course provided by TCC. Other places vary in price but are usually £10 for a one day course.

If you would like to book on a course please contact Naomi at T3SC on 0161 339 4985 or email
