Part Time Training Coordinator
The Wooden Canal Boat Society is a registered charity based in Ashton-under-Lyne. For the past 14 years we have been using our historic wooden boats to transport donated goods, which are then sold on our market stall and in our thriving charity shop at 173, Stamford Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 7PS. We are seeking suitably experienced people to undertake the following roles in the shop:
Part Time Charity Shop Coordinator 25 hours per week £8.50 per hour You will be an imaginative and creative person who will be responsible for the day to day operation of the charity shop.
You will be involved in developing and implementing systems and procedures, and will need to maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, paid staff, volunteers, the managing body and community contacts in order to achieve the charity’s objectives. Retail or specifically charity retail management experience is essential.
Part Time Training Coordinator 16 hours per week £8.50 per hour You will be performing shop duties and supporting volunteers undertaking NVQ training. You will need to maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, paid staff, volunteers, the managing body and community contacts in order to achieve the charity’s objectives.
Retail or specifically charity retail supervisory experience is essential. You will be willing and able to train to NVQ Level 3 and become an NVQ Assessor
In the case of both positions experience of working with the long-term unemployed, sick or disabled or mental health service users is essential, and successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB check.
Please note: The posts are initially funded for one year by the Innovation Fund. Continuation of the posts will depend on developing sufficient charity shop business and building income over the first year.

Salary Scale: SO1 Points 29 – 31
(Actual Salary: £14,641 - £15,609 plus 10% pension contribution)
The Parish of St Thomas, Kirkholt wishes to appoint a Development Worker to increase our involvement with our community.
